Fishing

The size of your bait decides the size of your fish. Bigger bait also gives a much better shot at rare fish.

Good to know

  • No bait? You mostly pull up junk, with only a small chance of a fish, and never a rare one.
  • Junk like Log, Hardwood Log, Petrified Log, Kelp and Old Boots can turn up with any bait.
  • Leveling up fishing makes rare fish more likely: 2% better for every level.
  • Fishing hotspots give a better chance at fish of every size.

Secret spots

Ice fishing at the Winter Festival

Only on Winter Festival day.

Lava Caves

Cast right into the lava.

Iridescent Worm bait

Use it as bait anywhere.

Rare fish

All 125 rare fish. Each one has its own chance on every cast, so use Large bait to hunt them.

Every fish you catch has its own weight and length, and that sets its price: weight plus length, times a number for that kind of fish. Small fish get the lowest number, large fish a bigger one, and rare fish start at 3, so a big rare fish is worth the most.
