Every villager has 2 favorite gifts. They are picked at random for each save, so ask around or check your journal: it shows the first at 2 hearts and the second at 4.

Everyone is happy to get one of the 20 flowers. A few people love them even more.

💰Worth more = happier

For anything else, the more it sells for, the happier they are. Junk worth 1 gold makes them angry.

🎂Birthdays count 3x

A gift on their birthday gives 3 times the hearts. Birthdays are random for each save and show on your calendar once you reach 1 heart.

For most gifts, it depends on what the item sells for.

What each heart unlocks

1 heart	Their birthday shows on your calendar, and you can visit their bedroom
2 hearts	Their 1st favorite gift and 1st recipe show in your journal

6 hearts	Their 3rd recipe
8 hearts	Their 4th recipe
